Scholarship Program

FHCA awards scholarships once a year to assist long term care employees working in member nursing centers and assisted living facilities with career advancement. The Bruce Taylor and Career Climb Scholarships are supported in part by Alliant Health Foundation.

The Bruce Taylor Scholarship supports FHCA member nursing center and assisted living facility staff with furthering their education and pursuing their career goals in nursing. Up to four, $5,000 scholarships may be awarded in a calendar year.

The Career Climb Scholarship supports FHCA member nursing centers and assisted living facility staff with furthering their education and advancing their long term care careers. Up to 10, $2,500 scholarship may be awarded in a calendar year to support FHCA member center employees in the areas of dietary manager certification, long term care administration, therapy, activities, social work degrees or other, non-nursing educational programs.

The Rising Long Term Care Leader Scholarship provides financial assistance to individuals completing an Administrator in Training (AIT) program in a Florida Health Care Association member nursing center. Thanks to the support of Florida Community Care, up to 30, $1,500 scholarships may be awarded in a calendar year.

Scholarships are awarded once a year, with an application deadline of April 30.

FHCA Workforce Initiatives

FHCA supports our member nursing centers and assisted living facilities with resources to recruit, retain and engage individuals seeking a career in long term care. FHCA works to enhance providers’ recruitment and retention efforts through a free Long Term Care Career Center job board, educational trainings and partnerships with statewide workforce and veterans organizations, CNA training and technical schools, community colleges and other stakeholder organizations.
