Career Climb Scholarship Application

This is a $2,500 scholarship award.
FHCA’s Career Climb Scholarship promotes advancement in non-nursing long term care careers for selected member nursing home and assisted living facility employees. Scholarships have supported individuals seeing to further their careers in the areas of physical therapy, long term care administration, certified dietary manager, for example. Award funds must be used for tuition, fees or books.
Applicants must:
- Be employed in a FHCA member facility with a length of employment of at least six (6) months
- Be currently accepted in course of study (other than nursing) in an accredited school
- Be willing to pledge that, upon successful completion of all coursework and any certifications which may be required for practice, will work as such in a FHCA member facility for at least one year
- Provide proof of course enrollment
- Submit an essay outlining your long term care experience, short/long term career goals and demonstration of financial need
- Provide two letters of recommendation (one from the facility administrator)
This program was established through an initial grant from the Life Care Centers of America. Today, this scholarship is funded by generous donors and proceeds raised from the FHCA annual Golf Tournament.
